Chris Midtling, DDS, MD, Achieves Diplomate Status

The Woodlands, TX – March 2025 – Northwest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery proudly congratulates Chris Midtling, DDS, MD, on earning Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), a testament to his expertise and commitment to the highest standards of surgical care.

Board certification by ABOMS is a rigorous process that involves extensive training, clinical experience and successful completion of comprehensive written and oral examinations. Diplomate status signifies the highest level of achievement in the field and ensures that patients receive treatment backed by the latest advancements and best practices in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Midtling grew up in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and graduated with distinction in Biology from the University of Minnesota. He went on to earn his dental degree at Columbia University in New York City, where he received multiple academic awards, including the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Award. From there, he completed medical school at the UNC School of Medicine while training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. After a General Surgery internship at UNC, he finished his OMFS training at The University of Texas – Health Sciences Center, serving as Chief Resident in the Texas Medical Center.

He specializes in jaw reconstruction, facial trauma, wisdom tooth extraction, pediatric surgery, dental implants, grafting procedures, and TMJ surgery. Driven by a passion for advancing the field, he has shared his expertise by authoring and contributing to multiple textbook chapters.

Dr. Midtling sees patients at Northwest Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery’s Spring and Woodlands offices and lives in Magnolia with his wife, Jackie, and their two children.
